Happy New Year

Published by mjerickson under Uncategorized Edit This

happy-new-year-t.jpg

This has been a very busy year. Back in February we decided to start the main website. Since then we have added a few more sites. The first blog was then started in May. We now added this blog and the blog for our pets. It has all kept me very busy but I love every minute of it. It is much better than sitting around bored.

The girls are growing so much and getting so old! Noelle is already taller than me. On the plus side her feet are also bigger so she can not steal my shoes any more. I can not believe how fast the years are flying by.  I wonder what this new year will bring.

Hopefully busier websites and lots of money. Wink

Okay now it is time to get ready for shopping!

After Christmas Sales

Published by mjerickson under Uncategorized Edit This

Wow, what a busy time of year for us. I am so glad that it is almost over!

First it was Christmas. Then yesterday was James’ dad’s birthday. Today is Noelle’s birthday. Tomorrow is of course New Years Eve. Tomorrow is also our day to go shopping. It is snowing right now but I hope the roads will be good tomorrow so we can still go.

The girls want to spend the money they got for Christmas so that is the plan. As of now we plan on getting clothes and the Wii Fit. The Wii Fit might have to wait if we buy lots of clothes. I keep seeing tons of store ads with incredible prices so we might just take advantage of the sales and get all clothes. The Wii Fit will be the same price later so it can wait.

I can not wait to check out the sales. Some places have ads for 70% off! The girls have been growing a lot so they all could use new pairs of jeans. I usually hate shopping but this time I am excited.

Okay, I should finish my wine and get some rest so I am read for tomorrow.

Free Printable Calendars

Published by mjerickson under Uncategorized Edit This

The year is almost over. Have you bought a calendar for the coming year yet? There are so many choices out there but custom ones are all the rage. You can even make some for Grandparents.

I have loved the free printable templates on the HP site for ages so I wanted to share with you the cool printable calendars they have. They have all types. Some templates you can add your own photos too. Some are monthly ones and you can add your own appointments and events to it.

We always have a store bought one by the back door but the girls like picking out and printing monthly calendars for the fridge. If you would like to check them out just go to the HP site for printable calendars . They are simple and free. What could be better?

It Is Over?

Published by mjerickson under Uncategorized Edit This

I can not believe Christmas has come and gone. It all happened so fast. We ran out of time to do make all f the things we usually do every year. I guess we will just keep on making things over the holiday break until we are done with them all. That will also help drag out the holiday feel.

I miss the girls being younger. Christmas was more magical then. The excitement of making wish lists and waiting for Santa. Getting gifts that they have wanted for a long time. It is still a great time of year but it is not what it used to be. There is not much more that they really want by the time Christmas comes. Neona and Nicole just had birthdays so they just got gifts. Noelle is about to have her birthday but at her age it is better to just let her pick out her own gift.

James, Noelle, and I got new cell phones. I am not your typical woman I guess so I was extremely happy to also get a snow blower as our “family gift” this Christmas. James is usually too busy or tired from long work days to shovel. We have 4 WD vehicles so he just leaves the snow. Men love anything with an engine so he has been out there every time the snow has fallen. I am loving having a clean driveway.

Okay I should finish my wine and head to bed. I would like to get some cleaning done tomorrow.

Merry Christmas

How did Christmas come so fast? I am kind of relieved to have it here. It is nice to know that I can now just relax and enjoy all of the planning. I do have to admit that I wish I was able to get a lot more done. I also can not belive the year is almost over!

We are getting a lot more snow, Yuck! However, James got a snow blower yesterday so my life now seems so much nicer. I have come home the last two days to find my driveway perfectly clear.  I can not ask for a better gift. Who needs jewelry when there is so much snow?

I hope you all have a great Christmas with your families.

Homemade Christmas Cards

Published by mjerickson under Uncategorized Edit This

Even though you have all your cards mailed out you always end up giving out more over Christmas. We tend to hand out cards along with gifts over the holidays. Why not let the kids make them? Here are some cute cards that kids can make. They will love doing these crafts. They will love giving them out even more.

The top card is made by making a thumbprint with brown paint. The kids can then decorate the reindeer with eyes, antlers, and a nose.  They make adorable cards and they are easy to make.

This next card is made by making cut out stencils. It is best to pick simple designs without a lot of details.  Simply place the stencil on the card and rub a glue stick over the cut out part. You can then sprinkle glitter over the glue.

How long is it until Spring?

Published by mjerickson under Uncategorized Edit This

Okay, so I guess I should say be careful of what you wish for!

We got snow alright. Tons and tons of snow. After over an hour of Noelle and I shoveling the driveway we found that we were not making much progress. I decided to call a man I knew and paid him $20 to plow the driveway. It was well worth it to me. We would have had to shovel for days to get it all done. It was really deep.

The girls are extremely happy about it getting plowed. When we get the driveway plowed all the snow gets plowed to the end of the driveway. It then makes for a get pile of snow to sled off of.  The yard is a great sledding hill as it is so the extra pile of snow at the top of the hill is just an added treat.

We are now having another snow storm! I hope it is not too bad. I would hate to have the driveway fill up with snow again. It is really pretty to look at from inside but I know at some point I will have to go outside. In the meantime we have done tons of baking.

Everyone is saying that this will be a horrible winter… I am really beginning to hate winter. I miss Arizona yet again.

Praying for a Snow Day

Published by mjerickson under Uncategorized Edit This

squirrel-snow-day.jpg

Well, we are in a winter storm warning tonight. They are predicting 8 to 12 inches of snow between midnight tonight and noon tomorrow. Everyone in this town is hoping for a snow day tomorrow. The elementary school had their Christmas program tonight and it was all the talk. I would love another snow day.

I absolutely love snow days. I just wish they would happen on a day that I do not have plans. The last one happened on a day that I had things that I could not reschedule. If we have one tomorrow I will still have to leave the house because I have somewhere to be at 10am. Why can’t mother nature plan these things better?

Oh well, a snow day would still be nice. I really need to get caught back up on some Christmas things and it would give me more time. Snow days mean that I have extra helpers at home so when I get back home we can get right to the having fun part. James if you actually read this a snow blower would be nice right about now. I am now wishing our driveway was not so darn big.
